Orange, Carrot and Ginger Juice

At the end of the day this is just a juice so writing a paragraph on it is kind of pointless. I recently bought a better blender, and so like whenever I get a new kitchen toy, right before falling asleep I think of recipes. For some reason this combination sounded good, refreshing and perfect as a morning pick-me-up. I personally love ginger (men, cookies, ale, beer, bread, etc.) so I added a sizeable amount. Adjust to your taste keeping in mind it is very strong.

Ingredients

1 carrot
1 orange
about a 2 cm piece of fresh ginger, peeled

Blend all the ingredients in a high-powered blender and enjoy! If you don't like pulp simply strain the juice before drinking.

Pimm's Inspired Salad: Fresh Strawberries and Cucumber Salad with Elderflower, Mint and Honey Syrup

Original Recipe

This combination sounded weird until I thought of Pimm's! This fruit salad is very refreshing and a perfect dessert after a heavy meal. The original recipe is by Nigel Slater, but I heard saw it in the this in a youtube video by my favourite vloggers Aslan and Estée.

Ingredients

10 mint leaves
5 tbsp of elderflower cordial
3 tbsp of honey

half a cucumber
1 large punnet of strawberries

  1. Blitz the mint, cordial and honey in a food processor. Alternatively finely chop the mint, combine with all the ingredients and then strain out before adding to fruit.
  2. Slice the cucumber length wise.
  3. Using a spoon, scoop out the middle part.
  4. Chop the cucumber in about 1 cm slices. Then chop again into quarters.
  5. Chop the strawberries into quarters.
  6. Combine the fruit in a bowl and then drizzle with the syrup.
  7. Enjoy!

Step by Step: Super Easy and Delicious Chocolate Covered Oreo Strawberries

Chocolate covered strawberries is a phrase that makes my heart sing. Add oreos to the mix and I'm in heaven. These makes a great gift but also an excellent quick dessert to bring to barbecue, picnic or party. I served this with drinks before a ball, and they were an excellent Prosecco pairing.  If you want a glossy finish your chocolate make sure that you temper it and keep it out of the fridge.

Wash the strawberries.

Melt a bar of white and dark chocolate in 30 second increments, stirring at each increment. Blend 6 oreos in food processor.

Dip the strawberries in the chocolate and then in the oreos. Place on baking paper to set.
